Roger Fell & Sean Murray's Runners Today

Hold up performer who scored twice over 5f at Musselburgh this summer and arrives on the back of a creditable runner-up effort there last weekend. Just as effective over 6f (third of 16 over C&D in July) and the mount of Paul Mulrennan from the Goldie contingent.

Won this race in 2019 and a respectable sixth in it last year. Another good run over C&D when second of 16 in July and he's capable of bouncing back from a below-par effort at Newmarket last month. 2 lb below his last winning mark.

Has drawn a blank in 25 starts since scoring over C&D (soft) in autumn 2021 but his latest close third at Doncaster (6f, heavy) was creditable. Could have a big say if the ground goes soft.

Fifteen runs since last win in 2022 but that doesn't tell the full story as there have been plenty of good placed efforts since joining this yard. Capable of having a say.

Course winner. Career best when readily landing 12-runner handicap at Southwell (7f) 9 days ago. Deserted by Paul Mulrennan this time but still respected under a 5 lb penalty.

Started the season with wins at Doncaster (5f, heavy) and over C&D (good) and showed he's still in form when second of 11 at Nottingham (6f, good to soft) last month. Any easing of the ground would increase his chance.

Runner-up twice in 6f handicaps in the mud in July. Not seen to best effect when fifth of 9 at Pontefract last month and treated as if still in form. This 3-y-o is one of the least exposed in the line-up.

C&D winner. Bounced back to form when winning 11-runner handicap at Carlisle (5f, good) at the start of this month and backed that up when a creditable third of 14 at Southwell (6f) since. 5 lb penalty.

Back to winning ways in 6f Carlisle handicap 3 weeks ago and caught the eye when third of 21 over 5f here on Thursday, finishing well having had to wait for a run. The return to 6f looks ideal and he's a major player if coping with 2 outings in quick succession.

Twenty seven runs since last win in 2022 but most recent efforts have been creditable, including his fourth of 11 at Ripon (6f, good to firm) 17 days ago, never nearer. Can make presence felt.

C&D winner on soft in July. Ran well enough to think he's still in good form when fourth of 15 in handicap at Thirsk (7f, soft) on Monday.

Final leg of a hat-trick in May/June came over C&D but the handicapper has been winning the argument since.

Has done well over 6f in recent months, including a win at Pontefract in July. Placed at York and Pontefract since then and simply found things happening too quickly down at 5f for the first time here on Thursday. Should find this more suitable if turned out quickly.

Racked up an AW hat-trick at Newcastle at the end of 2022. Went close to another win there in February but it's hard to get too excited by his recent turf efforts.

Sixteen runs since last win in 2022. Sixth of 7 in handicap at Thirsk (6f, good to soft, 5/1) 13 days ago. Others more persuasive.

Has proved a real money-spinner this year, producing a career best to notch his fifth win of the campaign in 7f Carlisle handicap last month. Creditable third back there (7f again) since. Just as effective at 6f. His penalty puts him on a career-high mark.

Two AW wins at Newcastle at the start of the year and went in again Hamilton (6f) in July. Creditable fourth of 9 in handicap at Carlisle (7f, soft) 9 days ago.

Reacted well to the fitting of a visor when winning over 5f at Beverley and Windsor in August but his 2 runs since suggest the effects of the headgear have worn off.

Turned in best effort of the campaign from a tumbling mark when fourth at Ripon last month but he failed to build on it at Doncaster last Sunday.

Visored first time, ran poorly when eighth of 11 in handicap at Doncaster (6f, heavy) 48 days ago. Regular cheekpieces back on now.

C&D winner. Got his head back in front at Carlisle in July but his 3 runs since have been disappointing. Due to run in the 5.17 here on Thursday.

Pair of 5f wins this summer, the first one here. Another solid run when second at Catterick (5f) last month but his run of good form came to a halt at Carlisle 3 weeks ago and he was also well held here on Thursday.

Finally got off the mark in a 15-runner handicap at Thirsk (6f, good) in June but hasn't reproduced that form in 3 outings since, including last of 13 at Redcar on Tuesday.
