Race 1 Newbury 13:40 Handicap (Class 5) 7f
Improved performer in nurseries of late, runner-up both starts, his latest second at Kempton backed up by the clock. Same mark here so he's the one to beat.
Improved on previous form when second of 6 in novice event at Salisbury (6f, good to firm) 22 days ago. Makes handicap debut and bred to improve for this trip.
Continued theme of race-by-race progress when runner-up for the second time on nursery debut at Nottingham (8.3f). Raced freely on that occasion so return to 7f no issue.
Still rough around the edges when failing to match Epsom form at Ffos Las 9 days ago. Switches to a nursery and may yet be capable of better.
William Muir &
Pulled hard and looked a shade awkward when fourth of 7 in maiden at Chelmsford City (8f, 10/1) 17 days ago. Makes handicap debut from a fair-looking mark.
J S Moore
Consistent rather than progressive in 4 runs, sticking to his task when third on nursery debut at his course a month ago. Stamina on dam side of pedigree so 7f will suit.
Runner-up at Salisbury but failed to match that form when third of 5 in novice event at Beverley (7.4f, good to firm, 5/1) 24 days ago. Makes handicap debut and improvement needed.
Debut third was encouraging and left tame run at Salisbury behind when third of 12 at Kempton (7f) 17 days ago. Makes handicap debut.
Stood up well to a pretty intensive campaign, better than ever for opening win at Southwell (6f) last month. Isn't obviously capable of better now tackling a nursery but she's in form.
Oh Sweet Tabu
Third on debut over 6f at York in May but backward steps both starts since over 7f. Given a break prior to this nursery debut.
Looked a work-in-progress in a trio of qualifying runs over 6f. Up in trip now handicapping with headgear on.
Race 2 Salisbury 16:52 Handicap (Class 5) 8f
3 wins from 10 runs this year. 13/2, career best when winning 11-runner handicap at this C&D (good to firm) 8 days ago, well on top finish. Respected under a penalty.
2 wins from 6 runs this year, latest success at Bath in July. Only third of 5 in handicap at Ffos Las (7.4f, soft, 13/8) 25 days ago. Could leave latest effort behind returned to 1m.
Mr Patrick Millman
Gavi Di Gavi
3/1, ran well when second of 7 in handicap at this C&D (good to firm) 22 days ago, doing too much too soon. Can take advantage of his much lower turf mark.
Miss Georgia King
Having dropped in the weights, improved on recent efforts to win 14-runner handicap (3/1) at this course (7f, good to firm). Off 110 days. Can go well again.
Latest win at Leicester in May. Below form both starts since though, last of 3 in handicap (11/4) at Newmarket (10f, good) 55 days ago. Needs to get back on track with tongue strap now applied.
Miss Rachel Kelly
Latest win at Leicester in July. Not in the same form when last of 7 in handicap at Sandown (10f, good, 17/2) 30 days ago. Bounce back called for.
Mr Henry Main
Has struggled for form this year, fourth of 6 in handicap (14/1) at Windsor (10f, good to firm) 39 days ago. Has enough to prove at present.
Mr Freddie Gordon
Not discredited when fifth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f, 8/1) 21 days ago. Had run well at this C&D on his penultimate start and can give another good account.
Mr Lewis Saunders
J S Moore
Latest win at Chepstow in June. However, below form at the same course both starts since, fifth of 8 (11/2) in handicap (8.1f, good to firm) 28 days ago. Cheekpieces back on.
Mrs Jo Supple
After 9 weeks off, ran no sort of race when last of 8 in handicap (18/1) at Newbury (8f, good to firm) 43 days ago. Best watched.
